The Maui Wowie is a real vegan pizza, not a cheese pizza with the cheese taken off. It starts on the same organic Washington flour dough as everything we make, and the dough is vegan too.
Tomato sauce, vegan mozzarella, garlic, soyrizo, cherry peppers and pineapple. It's our riff on a Hawaiian: the soyrizo does the job ham usually does, the pineapple brings the sweet, and the cherry peppers bring a little heat. In their review of Ballard Beer Box, The Infatuation said it's as satisfying as a pizza with pork and mozzarella.
Vegan mozzarella and soyrizo can go on any pizza on the menu, and any pizza can be built without cheese. Half and half works too, so one pizza can feed a vegan and a meat eater.
Pineapple and a little heat like something crisp. A lager or a hazy IPA from our fourteen taps works, and so does a glass of our natural wine. Monday to Thursday until 5pm, house wine is $2 off at happy hour.
Order a day ahead and take 15% off to-go orders over $150. One pizza feeds about two people. A Maui Wowie or two alongside the rest of the order, and the vegans at the party are looked after.
